I'm Back.............

I have been back from the flower shop since just before New Years but had neglected to post anything because of the busy season. I apologize.
We are in full swing with rug hookers meeting again on Wednesdays, Stitchers on Thursday mornings and Knitters on Tuesday afternoons.
I am working hard at trying to put together a schedule so that you can all access it on the internet or pick a copy up in the store. It is for self preservation as those of you who know me know that life has gotten very busy.
The twins will be coming regularly on Sunday nights and staying until Monday evenings so that both parents can have a break. I have been trying to get into shape (lol) so that I am up to the task. Payton was up from 1:00 until 3 a.m. I had sent Sheena back to bed and stayed up with her. At 3 a.m. I decided to make the decision to feed her again. I'm a Mother right? I can make that decision. Besides, her own Mother was sleeping so I just got that bottle out of the fridge and gave her a couple more ozs. Off she went to dreamland until 5:30 a.m. Woo Hoo! For those of you who know Travis, he has gone to play hockey for the South Muskoka Shield in Gravenhurst. I have never been in a colder arena in my life. For now Ciff and I are empty nesters at least until the twins arrive for their weakly vist.
For those of you who are waiting for Frill Seeker yarn and for Ondos we are waiting patiently. We did receive two new colours of Ondas this afternoon but have 5 on back order. We will get it when they ship it. It is as simple as that. I don't know where I am in the line but when they work their way down to me I will receive my shipment. You know, it's like being on hold, your order is important to us, STAY ON THE LINE, I would like to hang up but then I won't get my yarn. lol. Patience is a virtue. Unfortunately not one of mine.
There are several new yarns coming and I am excited about them. Hopefully we're not all out in the gardens when they arrive.
Stitchers, there is a yard sale table of cross stitch patterns as well as books that are on for half the price shown on the books. These patterns are already reduced and a great buy for those of you looking for something new but have exhausted the budget after Christmas. lol
Upcoming events. Fran Vidal will be teaching a seger class on Monday January 17th. This will be a 3 part class for those of you who need a serger refresher. Brenda Allen will be back to teach a techniques class using the Square in a Square method and for beginner quilters I will be teaching a Log Cabin start to finish class on Thursday afternoons for three weeks beginning January 27th from 1-3 p.m. I am also doing UFO Fridays again. Please check to see what dates are available.

Our regular Hook in will be on January 28th beginning at 10 a.m. Please make sure that you are on our list.

Hope all of you had a very Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing you in the shop

One tired Grandma

I had forgotten what it was like to experience the birth of babies. I am a new grandma and although it is exciting, I just realized how old I am. lol
Carter and Peyton are the most beautiful babies ever. There! I have joined the obnoxious grandparent club. I will try not to besiege you with to many pictures and bend your ear to much, but for now I am very excited.
Peyton, looks like a beautiful little girl, who may have red hair or at least some highlights. She has blue eyes for now but they tell me that could change. Carter, looks like a little man with beautiful blue eyes as well and looks like his daddy. Both babies are very alert and are very well behaved. Anyone who knows Sheena and her organizational skills knows that they wouldn't be any other way. lol.
I spent last night in the hospital with her and the babies and all those feedings and I needed to come home for a sleep.
Lakeridge hospital in Oshawa was an unbelievable experience. The nurses and support staff were just great and I think that makes for a wonderful time for new mothers. Cheers to them.
I will be back in the shop on Saturday after a much needed rest.

Frillseeker yarns

Frillseeker yarns will begin shipping again next week. The original colours are still not back in stock but there are three new colours available and we hope to have them in the shop next week. The orders will be filled in sequence and I can only hope that they are not sold out when they reach my name. There is also a new Katia yarn that is on order and I hope that it will also arrive next week. Who knew that we would still be knitting funky scarves after all this time.
Most of you know that we are having twin grandchildren. They will arrive Dec. 8th if all goes well. If she eats to much spagetti at the hockey fundraiser tonight they may come earlier. Apparently there is not alot of room left and they are jockeying for space. I will be away from the shop for a few days but Sharon, Geri and Cecile will be there to help you.
Rug hookers will continue to meet on Wednesdays but only in the afternoon until the new year. The Rug Hookers Bible books are now in stock again as well as the videos from Gene Shepherd. I have been picking up new rug hooking books and magazines as I see them but they are in and out quickly so check regularly if you are looking for something specific.

No babies yet!

I have been patiently awaiting the arrival of the twins. Sheena has been looking after herself very well and apparently they won't be arriving until they are darn good and ready. Stress tests have been passed and they seem to be happy to stay where they are for now. I am nervous. There! I've said it. If all goes as planned we will have grandchildren next week.

We had a great day at hooking today. All projects are moving right along and I'm really impressed with the oriental rugs the ladies are doing.
Janice, I have to say that the miniature scenes have really caught my eye but I keep telling myself that I can't start another thing. I think I am going to take Barb Powers advice she gave me one time about quilting. Nobody says you have to make the whole quilt. You can buy the fabric make a block or two and get it out of your system and put the rest away. lol
I like that idea. I feel a new project coming on.

Stitchers meet on Thursday morning. We knit, stitch and sew and do whatever we darn well please in that group. Everyone is welcome.
See you Thursday.
